Have some fun and do something really worthwhile too!

Wanna have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Here's a great, inexpensive way to get the message across that we want to keep the Christmas in Christmas. This year, why not send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD!

As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world. Just make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it.

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions.. So spend 39 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone.

Also tell them that there is no such thing as a Holiday Tree. . . . It's a Christmas Tree even in the fields!!

I Am Coming

This is an anonymous writing that I received from a friend. I like to keep email entries away from this site but the letter below is so succinctly written that I wanted it to be part of the historical record here at H&A. I don't know its origin, who to credit or who the pilot is. My guess is his initials are W.R. but it's just a guess. We begin by reading, over his shoulder, the pilot's letter to "the terrorists." They know who they are. And now they know his promise--he is coming....and so are his friends--our "heros."

Dear Terrorists,

I am a Navy Aviator. I was born and raised in a small town in New England. I come from a family of five. I was raised in a middle class home and taught my values by my mother and father.

My dad worked a series of jobs in finance and my mom took care of us kids. We were not an overly religious family but attended church most Sundays. It was a nice small Episcopal Church. I have a brother and sister and I am the youngest in my family. I was the first in many generations to attend college.

I have flown Naval aircraft for 16 years. For me the flying was never a lifelong dream or a "calling," it just happened. I needed a job and I liked the challenge. I continue to do it today because I feel it is important to give back to a nation which has given so much to me. I do it because, although I will never be rich, my family will be comfortable.

I do it because many of my friends have left for the airlines and someone has to do it.

My government has spent millions to train me to fly these multi-milliondollar aircraft. I make about 70,000 dollars a year and after 20 years will be offered a pension.

I like baseball but think the players make too much money. I am in awe of firemen and policemen and what they do each day for my community, and like teachers, they just don't get paid enough.

I respect my elders and always use sir or ma'am when addressing a stranger. I'm not sure about kids these days but I think that's normal for every generation.

I tell you all this because when I come for you, I want you to know me. I won't be hiding behind a woman or a child. I won't be disguised or pretending to be something I am not. I will be in a U.S. issue flight suit. I will be wearing standard US issue flight gear, and I will be flying a navy aircraft clearly marked as a US warplane. I wish we could meet up close in a small room where I could wrap my hands around your throat and slowly squeeze the life out of you, but unfortunately, you're hiding in a hole in the ground, so we will have to do this a different way.

I want you to know also that I am very good at what I do. I can put a 2,000 lb weapon through a window from 10,000 feet up. I generally only fly at night, so you may want to start sleeping during the day. I am not eager to die for my country but I am willing to sacrifice my life to protect it from animals like you.

I will do everything in my power to ensure no civilians are hurt as I take aim at you.

My countrymen are a forgiving bunch. Many are already forgetting what you did on Sept 11th. But I will not forget!!

I am coming. I hope you know me a little bit better, see you soon...sleep tight.

Ermey on The Marine Who Shot Iraqi Insurgent

For the few of you, who missed him, R. Lee Ermey is the host of The History Channel's "Mail Call" (my husband's favorite show) and played the Drill Instructor in the movie, "Full Metal Jacket." He is a retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant and a very plain speaker, as you will soon read. So, for your entertainment, here is Retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant R. Lee Ermey at his first press conference. The main topic of discussion is the Marine in Iraq who shot the Iraq insurgent to death. We pick up as the reporter asks about how this potential war crime will affect our image in the world:

Ermey:

"WHAT KIND OF A PANSY-ASSED QUESTION IS THAT?"

$230 Million to Aid Lebanon from the USA?

We might as well write the check directly to hezbollah. Another US disconnect. We support Israel. Israel is attacked by hezbollah. Hezbollah wins the media war. The UN convinces Israel to not wipe out hezbollah in Lebanon but to cease fire and go home. We send Iran/hezbollah/Lebanon--"hezbanon"--a big check so it can rebuild... and say that we think the UN should really keep an eye on the goings on in Lebanon this time.


That's the same people who gave us 1559 unenforced for 28 years. And the same people who have already reneged on the part of the current compromise where Hezbollah was going to be disarmed. (Think: UN track record...oh, that's right. It has none--unless you want to discuss corruption and misuse of power.)

We must have a death wish for our friends in Israel... not to mention our own interests in the region. It's the old saw: With friends like us, who needs enemies?

And there's no strings on our "aid." We don't even drive a "soft" deal in return for our assistance.

Hezbanon gets free money and wheat--it's already been announced as a done deal (after all hezbollah's got to be able to bulk up for the next go 'round).

On the other hand, Israel might get a rebuilding "loan" from us when congress gets around to discussing it. In other words, it's nowhere near their agenda yet.

The kicker to this gift is that we are also sending money and training to rebuild hezbanon's military... (and I'm quoting the USInfo.state.gov article--URL above). Emphasis below is mine:

"Other proposed U.S. assistance includes a $42 million package to help train and equip Lebanon's armed forces, and an upcoming presidential delegation of private-sector leaders that will visit the country to identify ways in which American businesses and nonprofit organizations can help."

Training and equipping hezbanon's armed forces? Are we serious? I guess Condi, the President, or someone stayed up nights thinking this one up. But.......my question is....Why? Why do anything at all? We didn't have to do anything more than send our Marines to evacuate the hordes in harms way and support our friend, Israel, at the UN and around the world. It wasn't our war--for once. And Israel was doing so well! Of course it had to be stopped! We can't have someone winning outright against hezbollah, now can we?

Now that it's over, or on hiatus, even looking as if we are propping up a "pretend" government which, by the way, is in LOVE with and, demonstatedly powerless against, Iran is way beyond wrong.

That we are propping up and funding the military of an extension government of Iran, a country that has demonstrated itself to be one of our, and Israel's, most imminent nuclear adversaries is also beyond stupid.

That we are propping up and funding rebuilding of hezbanon with the hopes that our sharing our capitalist resources and personnel will motivate hezbanon to the point of gratitude and loyalty to the US, is foolish at best and unrealistic by any measure.

I'd like to look at the glass as half-full, a real opportunity for democracy to take root, but denial of the reality in a situation is not the first step toward any relationship.

Who's the fool for funding its enemies around the world?

Shame On You, President Carter

Oh yeah! Jimmy Carter's at it again. Now he goes to Der Spiegel to bash our country. He's still one of our biggest embarrassments--anywhere he goes! And he goes abroad to do this often! More about Jimmah's faults HERE, and HERE, and HERE.

Here's a quote from the Der Spiegel interview linking Christian fundamentalism to US political policies. Outrageous! And he even has the nerve to tell the world that the news media was helping the President accuse citizens of being traitorous for any disagreement they might have with the administration's policies.

Now if there's ever been an anti-Christian force in this country (outside of the ACLU, and NOW) it's our mainstream media. They never would be caught dead giving President Bush so much as a break, much less becoming complicit with him in a devious plot accusing the US citizenry of anything. Much less a plot based on made-up, supposedly fundamentalist Christian beliefs--however THAT fits in to his convoluted thinking. (Is THAT what he thinks President Bush has ever done? Him, a self-confessed "born again" Christian.)

"The New York Times Found Complicit in Plot With President to Accuse Those Who Disagree With the Administration of Traitorous Behavior"...hmmm... Carter: Unfortunately, after Sept. 11, there was an outburst in America of intense suffering and patriotism, and the Bush administration was very shrewd and effective in painting anyone who disagreed with the policies as unpatriotic or even traitorous. For three years, I'd say, the major news media in our country were complicit in this subservience to the Bush administration out of fear that they would be accused of being disloyal. I think in the last six months or so some of the media have now begun to be critical. But it's a long time coming.

Mr. Past President, you're a bit of a fundamentalist schmuck! Have you no shame, no dignity, no loyalty to your fellow countrymen and women? Could you possibly be so dense--our "most intelligent" President-- to think you are not endangering those Americans in harm's way by your despicable mouth-flapping cavalier behavior around the globe?

I wish Roslyn would give you a "honey-do" list that would get you off the street asap. C'mon, Roslyn, for the good of America....

On S-2590, Amnesty, and Law Enforcement

Dear Senators:

We want the Coburn/Obama bill 2590 unblocked and passed!

The secret "hold" placed on this bi-partisan Bill is an outrage. If any Senator has a legitimate reason the bill should not be passed, he or she should come out publicly, say he or she is opposing it and explain why.

We want to know where and how our tax dollars are being spent. We cannot trust the management of our government funds to people who feel they do not have to keep us informed.

This is not brain surgery. Either you insist that we enforce our laws and behave responsibly with our tax dollars, or we will not vote for you at election time.

Oh, and, let's stop dilly dallying with our country's security issues. We want NO AMNESTY, no worker program, no student visas renewed or new ones handed out until after the Middle East (including Iraq and Afghanistan) situation has been safely contained.

We need no new legislation to do this. There are laws on our books that we should be allowing our law enforcement community to enforce. If we do not enforce our laws, we become a lawless people.

Already, most of our citizens feel that our unenforced laws do not apply to them--just to everyone else.

Illegal aliens believe they can ignore our laws and be rewarded in the US with riches and a "better life."

And we have a number of our legislators--both of you among them (this was sent to my two senators originally. Check your senators here and feel free to write them about how YOU feel)--who think that it's just fine to give our tax money and constitutional rights away to non-citizens (in some cases even our stated enemies) who do not obey the laws that you ask us to obey. This is also outrageous. We are not fooled into thinking this is good for the future of our State or the USA.

We, the public, are going to figure out a way to return to societal sanity as Arizona is now doing and as Hazelton, PA, has done, so come along, or, please, just get out of our way.

That any of our elected officials will not act appropriately according to the grave risks leveled at Americans and all democratic people around the world, is beyond comprehension.

We need to WIN this confrontation, not to appease it. People who disagree with us to the point of wanting us annihilated--and have said so repeatedly--cannot be trusted to negotiate a "win/win" compromise. We need to take them at their word. Sometimes you just have to be stronger and carry that "bigger stick" in the interest of all that is good in the world. We elected you to represent us in that process. What have you done for us lately?

Three More Egyptian Students in Custody

Two more Egyptian exchange students were arrested in Maryland, and one was arrested in Chicago at O’Hare airport. The last one is more interesting than the others, since he did not enter custody gently, and raised a stink at the airport:

Police arrested Ahmed Mohamed Mohamed Abou El Ela, 22, at O’Hare International Airport after he tried to check in for a Chicago-to-Montana flight using an invalid ticket marked for a New York departure, Chicago police said.

El Ela raised his voice and became unruly after an employee at a Delta ticket counter refused to let him exchange the ticket for a valid one, said Timothy J. Bolger, the Chicago police officer at the scene.

“He was loud and causing people to be alarmed,” Bolger said. The officer said El Ela calmed down when police arrived.

After federal officials confirmed El Ela was one of the students they were seeking, police turned him over to immigration agents, Chicago Police Superintendent Phil Cline said.

And the mandatory disclaimer, which we can all repeat verbatim in our sleep by now:

None of the students is considered a terrorism risk, and FBI officials stressed there are no ties between the Egyptians and the alleged terror plot broken up by British authorities.

Why is that so certain? How do they know that? What did they do, take the word of the CIA?

Here’s one possible explanation for the Egyptian youths’ truancy:

Relatives in Egypt explained the students’ failure to show up at Montana State by saying they probably wanted to find work in the United States.

“It must have been in his mind to stay where there are plenty of job opportunities,” said Ibrahim el-Dessouki, the father of a student arrested Wednesday in Minnesota. “You know how much a dollar is worth here in Egypt.”

We certainly do. We send - what is it? - two billion of them every year.

More Than 5555 Deadly Islamic Terror Attacks Since 9/11

Today my side bar counter reads "Today Islamic Terrorists Have Carried Out More than 5555 Deadly Terror Attacks Since 9/11." If that doesn't convince you that negotiating with radical islamists is not an option, what would?

Also today Britain's Home Secretary refused to name the enemies by their common religious affiliation. Other British officials had strong words against President Bush for stating yesterday in a speech about the incident that we are at war with islamic fascists. No basic assumptions can be drawn about those responsible for the thwarted plot to blow up 10 human-filled commercial planes mid-air and the other 5555 islamic terrorist attacks since 9/11? Denial has its drawbacks.

We can't win--survive--against an enemy we deny exists. If we want to see ourselves as "nice" "open minded" "inclusive" "better than that..." people, some of our so-called civil "rights" are going to have to be violated in order to protect us from extinction.

You see, it either has to be that we name our enemy and allow all "civil rights" to continue for everyone except members of the acknowledged enemy group. Or, it has to be that we do not name our enemy by any identity and we have to treat everyone exactly the same--with suspicion--discovering the individual enemies one by one through the strict enforcement of all laws on the books. No whining about discrimination anymore. No bleeding heart activist judges. The same treatment for you and me as for any islamo fascist.

NOTE TO SELF: THIS IS A MENTAL HEAD SLAP MOMENT.

Instead, we want to have it both ways: ("We're just trying to make a living for ourselves and our families--we don't need no stinking laws.") No laws enforced, and no identification of those who will do the general public harm--or annihilation--for, in this case, radical religious reasons. That's what I call a lose/lose situation.

ISRAEL AND JERUSALEM FACTS

1. Israel became a state in 1312 B.C., two millennia before Islam;

2. Arab refugees from Israel began calling themselves "Palestinians" in 1967, two decades after (modern) Israeli statehood.

3. After conquering the land in 1272 B.C., Jews rules it for a thousand years and maintained a continuous presence there for 3,300 years.

4. The only Arab rule following conquest in 633 A.D. lasted just 22 years.

5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem was the Jewish capital. It was never the capital of and Arab or muslim entity. Even under Jordanian rule, (East) Jerusalem was not made the capital and no Arab leader came to visit it;

6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the Bible, but not once is it mentioned in the qur'an;

7. King David founded Jerusalem; Mohammed never set foot in it;

8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem; muslims face Mecca. If they are between the two cities, muslims pray facing Mecca, with their backs to Jerusalem;

9. In 1948, Arab leaders urged their people to leave, promising to cleanse the land of Jewish presence. 68% of them fled without ever setting eyes on an Israeli soldier;

10. Virtually the entire Jewish population of muslim countries had to flee as the result of violence and pogroms;

11. Some 630,000 Arabs left Israel in 1948, while close to a million Jews were forced to leave the muslim countries;

12. In spite of the vast territories at their disposal, Arab refugees were deliberately prevented from assimilating into their host countries. Of 100 million refugees following World War II, they are the only group to have never integrated with their co-religionists. Most of the Jewish refugees from Europe and Arab lands were settled in Israel, a country no larger than New Jersey;

13. There are 22 muslim countries, not counting Palestine. There is only one Jewish state. Arabs started all five wars against Israel, and lost every one of them;

14. Fatah and Hamas constitutions still call for the destruction of Israel. Israel ceded most of the West Bank and all of the Gaza to the Palestinian Authority, and even provided it with arms;

15. During the Jordanian occupation, Jewish holy sites were vandalized and were off-limits to Jews. Under Israeli rule, all muslim and Christian holy sites are accessible to all faiths;

16. Out of 175 United Nations Security Council Resolutions up to 1990, 97 were against Israel; out of 690 General Assembly Resolutions 429 were against Israel;

17. The U.N. was silent when the Jordanians destroyed 58 synagogues in the old city of Jerusalem. It remained silent while Jordan systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives, and it remained silent when Jordan enforced apartheid laws preventing Jews from accessing the Temple Mount and Western Wall.

Three Missing Egyptians in Custody; Eight Still At Large

If there is ever a case for slamming closed ALL student visas to this country (not to mention slamming closed the dang borders at the same time), this is it.

While the police have photos of these Egyptians, they apparently do not want to share them with the rest of us.

Now, tell me. how is it we are supposed to be NOT suspicious of every Egyptian we pass if we have only their names and ages to go on? Do I have to introduce myself, in hopes that they will use their real name when meeting and greeting me before we "act with caution?"

Egyptian Students Missing

As reported on LGF, the US has relaxed its restrictions on student visas for Middle Eastern countries, so we shouldn’t be surprised by this story: Egyptian students disappear in US.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Immigration agents and the FBI are looking for 11 Egyptian students who entered the United States on valid student visas, then failed to show up at a university in Montana, authorities said.

The FBI on Saturday issued a nationwide alert to law enforcement agencies. Included were the students’ names, ages, passport numbers and photographs.

“At the present time there are no known associations to any terrorist groups. Approach with caution,” the lookout bulletin states.

FBI and immigration officials confirmed there’s no evidence pointing to criminal activity or a terrorist threat. However, The Associated Press quoted a law enforcement official as saying that the students could be sent home when found because they violated the terms of their visas.

They were part of an all-male group of 17 students that landed July 29 at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. Six of them arrived later at Montana State University as part of an exchange program; the other 11 did not, prompting school officials to contact the government.

An extraordinary number of them seem to be named “Mohamed.”

Two Additional Egyptian Students Arrested in New Jersey

Washington, D.C. – Today, the Manville ( New Jersey) Police Department took custody of Mohamed Ragab Mohamed Abd Alla, a 22 year-old Egyptian national, and Ebrahim Mabrouk Moustafa Abdou, a 22 year-old Egyptian national. The Manville Police Department contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and FBI agents who responded immediately.

ICE agents took custody of both individuals on administrative immigration violations as out-of-status students. Preliminary investigation by ICE and FBI agents has not identified any credible or imminent threat posed by Mr. Abdou or Mr. Abd Alla.

Earlier today, FBI and ICE agents also arrested 21-year-old Egyptian National Eslam Ibrahim Mohamed El-Dessouki in Minneapolis. The arrest occurred without incident. El-Dessouki was taken into custody on an administrative immigration violation as an out-of-status student. He was located through source information obtained in the joint FBI-ICE investigation and is currently in the custody of ICE officials. Preliminary investigation has not identified any credible or imminent threat posed by El-Dessouki.

The FBI and ICE investigation is ongoing, as we remain interested in locating and interviewing the other eight Egyptian students who failed to report for their academic program at Montana State University.

On July 16, Hasan Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah, announced there will be new "surprises," and the Aska Martyrs Brigade said that it had developed chemical and biological weapons that could be added to its rockets. Should Israel not be allowed to pre-empt their use?

Israel left Lebanon in 2000 and Gaza in 2005. These are not "occupied" territories. Yet they serve as launching pads for attacks on Israeli civilians.

Occupation does not cause terrorism, then, but terrorism seems to cause occupation. If Israel is not to reoccupy to prevent terrorism, the Lebanese government and the Palestinian Authority must ensure that these regions cease to be terrorist safe havens."

Global Warming--Hysteria or Fact?

The sky is falling...the sky is falling! No, Chicken Little (aka Al Gore) it is NOT.

In spite of Big Al's big movie success to the contrary, almost all of our record temperatures occurred years ago, not this year.

Says Wesley Pruden of the Washington Times,

The hysteria in certain newspapers and on certain television newscasts, fueled by academics eager to publish lest they perish, is just what media do. Last winter, it was avian flu; this summer, it's the arrival of the loudly promised global warming, and next winter, it will be something else. Hysteria over global warming -- the notion that we're all soon to be dead and we might as well lie down and enjoy it -- has become the received religion of modern science.

In reality, the reason for the hysteria is more because that, while, says Pruden, "It's observable fact that the Earth has warmed more than a degree over the past century; the weather always warms and cools over the centuries, brought about by solar activity and other natural phenomena."

Of course, as Pruden continues "Modern Scientific Man," and the humanists on the non-believing left are (says me) "obsessed with the notion that since there is no ordained order in the universe, it must have been man who did it."

But, of course, in typical emotional fashion, the world of those whose developmental progress is stuck at about 12, DOES revolve around them, doesn't it?

Not to say we shouldn't be responsible in the way we live our lives. Though since furthering US dependency on Arab or Venezuelan oil seems a little like shooting oneself in the foot, we definitely should be developing technology for alternative fuels in the longer run, and we should be drilling for oil in a minisule section of Alaska and building more refineries in Conus in the shorter term.

If we insist on depending on radical islamofascists for our energy, whose misguided stupidity is that but our own?

International mega corp interests cannot be placed ahead of our country's basic needs. But, global warming is NOT the reason to become energy self-sufficient. Common sense and maintenance of our own autonomy is. One thing I know for sure is: In the marketplace, it's always better to be in a position of choice, n'est-ce pas, mes amis?

Pruden began his Aug 8 editorial with the following:

Once upon a time in August, every year, every girl in town was a hottie. So were the men and boys. You could look it up.

Everybody complained about the heat but neither ex-vice presidents nor newspaper columnists, old wives or even television evangelists waxed hysterical about it. You could look that up, too. And if you did you would see that we've been here before, and the sky, despite everything the calamity howlers are telling you, is not falling this summer, either.

The record of the summer of 1930, now swiftly fading into ancient history, puts our summer in the shade. Between June 1 and Aug. 31 of that year Washington recorded 21 days when the temperature soared to 100 degrees or more. "That summer has never been approached," Patrick Michaels, a professor of natural resources at Virginia Tech and senior fellow for environmental studies at the Cato Institute, tells Cybercast News Service. "And it's not going to be approached this year."

Between July 19 and Aug. 9 of 1930, records were set nine times. These marks still stand three-quarters of a century later. It's enough to give everybody but Al Gore pause. And it wasn't just in Washington, where bloviation and man-made hot air are enough to keep the mercury bubbling but not enough to broil the upper atmosphere. (It's no coincidence that temperatures on Capitol Hill are usually warmer than in the more polite precincts of the nation's capital.)

Annan Mum on Hizballah's Wounding of UN Workers

(CNSNews.com) - A Hizballah-based mortar attack, which fell short of its target in Israel on Sunday and injured three Chinese members of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), has received scant media attention and no reaction from U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan.

Late last month, after four U.N. peacekeepers were killed in an Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon, Annan said he was "shocked and deeply distressed" at the "apparently deliberate targeting" of the outpost.

While information about Sunday's incident was not immediately available from the United Nations in New York, news accounts in China reported that "A Hizballah rocket hit the Chinese contingent headquarters at 11:55 am local time (0855 GMT), causing three peacekeepers [to be] lightly injured," according to a text report from China's Xinhua News Agency.

A former U.S. federal agent and counter-terrorism specialist deployed to Iraq before the war says he waged a three-year, unsuccessful battle to get officials to search four sites where he believes the former Saddam regime buried weapons of mass destruction.

Dave Gaubatz, an Arabic linguist who now serves as chief investigator with the Dallas County Medical Examiner, told his story to Ryan Mauro of WorldThreats.com.

Gaubatz said the suspected sites have never been searched by the Iraq Survey Group, the fact-finding mission dispatched by the U.S.-led multinational force. Two sites are within the city limits of Nasariyah, another about 20 miles south and the fourth in Umm Qasr, near Basra.

Emphasizing these are sites established by the Saddam regime after the first Gulf War, Gaubatz said he believes they contain chemical and/or biological weapons.

The former federal agent said the WMD were buried under riverbeds, and one site has a sewage pipe system. Before the war, he said, he had been briefed to search oil, gas, water and sewage pipes.

"Saddam was very good about hiding and moving WMD," Gaubatz told Mauro. "People need to research how easy it is to do using a gas-oil pipeline."

Providing more details, Gaubatz said the first site is within a couple of miles of several thousand U.S. military personnel at Ali Air Base, previously called Talil Air Base. The WMD are inside concrete bunkers buried under the riverbed of the Euphrates, he said.

The second site is in the sewage pipe system near the Saddam Hospital, where Pvt. Jessica Lynch was held hostage. There are pipes within the pipes, he noted.

The third site has WMD buried in canals, Gaubatz said, pointing out missile imprints were seen nearby.

The fourth site is at Umm Qasr, hidden in the channel. An Iraqi police captain assigned to both Nasariyah and Basra had information on this site, he said, and other Iraqis identified it as well.

Arguing for the validity of the sites, Gaubatz emphasized that many Iraqis risked their lives to identify them to his team.

Illustrating the danger, he told of receiving an e-mail June 23 from a special agent for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations in Nasariyah informing him that many of the Iraqi sources who came forward to help him and other OSI agents had been assassinated by insurgents since 2003.

"All they ever asked is that we, the U.S. government, inspect the sites they were risking their lives to show us," Gaubatz said. "They had heard President Bush say Saddam Hussein had WMD, and they wanted to help America. Now they are dead and the sites remain unsearched."

The Iraqis he interviewed provided many details about the suspected sites, he said. Many of the areas around the sites had been closed for several months while it was excavated to bury the weapons, causing severe hardship to the Iraqis nearby.

High-ranking Iraqi personnel and military trucks come into the area, according to the informants.

"Low-ranking soldiers often talked to the locals about the WMD being buried," Gaubatz explained. "Most people don't realize that alcohol and narcotics were often used excessively by Iraqi civilians, Fedayeen and military personnel. People talk when they are under the influence of drugs and alcohol."

Asked why the Iraq Survey Group and the Bush administration didn't rush to have the sites checked, Gaubatz replied: "Our president only gets filtered information provided to him. Charles Duelfer, the former director of the ISG, provided the information he wanted President Bush to obtain. He never informed President Bush that the ISG was negligent by only searching less than 10 percent of all sites identified."

Duelfer, Gaubatz noted, said at the beginning of the war and in an interview recently that "it was dangerous to go to suspected sites, and is still dangerous; the area is a war zone."

"This is what we were up against," Gaubatz commented. "I have never known of any war that was not dangerous. He should have taken this into consideration before accepting the director position."

Gaubatz touched on the announcement in June by Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., and Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., of some 500 chemical weapons discovered in Iraq since 2003, calling it "politics for personal gain and personal reaons."

Hoekstra and Rep. Curt Weldon wanted to locate WMD for their own political ambitions, Gaubatz charged.

"The release of the 'breaking news' of 500 WMD shells being found was purely Hoekstra in damage-control mode and old news to anyone who has worked intelligence," he maintained.

Gaubatz claimed the administration does not want to find out the truth because it could jeopardize the Republican Party.

"The sites I identified in 2003 were never searched; there is now a possibility the sites were looted and WMD is in the hands of terrorists," he said.

"Our administration, Weldon and Hoekstra can give 100 speeches about how much we are doing to fight the war on terrorism and how much they support our troops, but until they search the suspected WMD sites only two miles from our troops, they are feeding the American people B.S," he continued.

Gaubatz said he supports Bush, but the president's "advisers prevent the truth and the real intelligence from ever reaching him."

(CNSNews.com) - The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is guilty of "judicial blackmail," according to the American Legion, which is pushing for congressional legislation to end one of the ACLU's streams of revenue.

Judges would be stripped of the authority to award attorney fees to the ACLU and similar groups in cases involving the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment Establishment Clause, if the American Legion gets its way.

The clause stipulates that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." It is often the basis of legal challenges mounted by the ACLU and targeting religious monuments or displays on public property.

But such legal challenges have drawn the ire of conservatives.

"The threat of imposition of attorney fees is very real, and manifestly is being used as a bludgeon by the ACLU and others to compel states and local subdivisions to surrender to their demands to secularly cleanse the public sphere, including at veterans memorials," said Rees Lloyd of the American Legion in his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday.

A Senate bill introduced by Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) states that it will "prevent the use of the legal system in a manner that extorts money from State and local governments, and the Federal Government." A similar bill has been introduced in the House.

Joe March, director of public relations for the American Legion, said the legislation "would amend or revise the Civil Rights Act, in terms of eliminating the ability of judges to award attorney's fees, in cases where there is litigation brought against religious symbols in this country ... and things such as the Boy Scouts and public seals."

"Not only are organizations like the ACLU and others taking action against our American values, our religious symbols, our heritage and veterans memorials, but then if they are successful in the process, then they are having the courts award them tax dollars in attorney's fees even though they are organizations that work pro bono," March told Cybercast News Service on Thursday.

"That money is going directly into their coffers as profit, so to speak," he said.

In many cases the ACLU is able to get governments to "capitulate" before the case gets to court, for fear of the high cost of litigation, March said, calling it "judicial blackmail."

"If left unchecked this could become a very dangerous precedent in this country," said March.

But in a statement released Wednesday, the ACLU said the idea that it would sue over personal gravestones, was a "red herring."

"Religious symbols on personal gravestones are vastly different from government-sponsored religious symbols or sectarian religious symbols on government- owned property," the ACLU stated. "Gravestones and the symbols placed upon them are the choice of individual service members and their families."

The awarding of attorney fees should continue to be a judicial option, according to the ACLU. "The award of fees in Establishment Clause cases is not a means for attorneys to receive unjust windfalls. It is designed to assist those whose government has failed them.

"Despite proponents' assertions to the contrary, attorneys' fees are not awarded in Establishment Clause cases as a punitive measure. Rather, as in any case where the government violates its citizens' civil or constitutional rights, the award of attorneys' fees is reasonable compensation for the expenses of litigation awarded at the discretion of the court," the ACLU added.

Dear President Bush: Yes, I'm still glad you are our President. Especially in this time of world war.

Who would have thought that you, of all the candidates for President last time around, would become the President with his strongest suit in foreign affairs? In leading his country so courageously in Iraq, other fundamentalist Islamic nations, and with restraint when it comes to Israel's taking care of business with Hamas and Hezbollah in Gaza and Lebanon?

I cheered your selections for the Supreme Court, John Bolton's placement at the UN, and your veto of the stem cell research (funded by the federal government) bill.

Sadly, I believe you've been blinded by business interests (friends or lobbyists or both) on the Dubai Port deal and your insistence on a "guest worker" program (it's still an amnesty program, no matter what you call it).

We are not fooled into thinking that our National Guard have actually been funded and have gone to our southern border as promised by you and your congress. If it weren't for Chris Simcox and the Minutemen, would there be ANYone working on the border?

We are wide open to terrorists of every kind--at least as far as we can tell. They are reportedly setting up sleeper cells throughout the US and just laying in wait for the right time to strike us at home. Does this not concern you? I lose sleep over it, so I think it should be at least on your radar screen.

Here's what we want you to know:

We want you to allow and assist our police departments (as Tom Tancredo would do) nationwide to be able to enforce the laws currently on the books.

We want you to enforce our border security in a serious, real way.

We want you to enforce legislation that will protect us and make our businesses flourish--but not to aid business at the expense of our sovereignty and safety.

We will never accept an amnesty provision to any law and we don't want you to think that we will. We are more determined than you are on this.

We want all foreign government owned and/or operated US infrastructure to end immediately. Surely we can provide incentive enough for our own countrymen to own and/or run these businesses.

This is our short list. The Republicans need to know this list when they go-a-campaigning for 2006. Otherwise, we're going to end up with Speaker Pelosi. Not a pretty picture is it? Well, sure, it's all-for-one-and-one-for-all. But both sides need to take seriously their loyalty to the majority of voters in this country, not loyalty to the majority in the international business community.

Ms Magazine is having a contest. A contest for women who have had an abortion and are GLAD they did. The editors want to publish personal stories of successful abortions in their magazine. To what end, you say? Don't know for sure, but I can guess that they are trying to encourage others to not fret over making the decision of sweeping life from their womb.

What do they have to gain from this? Perhaps they have stock in whatever pharmaceutical company owns RU-487 or abortion clinics around the country. Seriously, what they want most is MONEY. So they can make sure Roe v. Wade and other related laws do not change. They are lobbyists first, it appears. Aah. Mental head slap. (Full Story Here).

At its biennial convention July 19-22, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) adopted an official position against the war in Iraq, calling on U.S. officials to "withdraw all troops, bases and military operations in a rapid and timely manner and to put a stop to the unending military presence that will waste lives and resources, undermine our nation's security and weaken our military."

The 1.3 million-member union also approved a "special order of business" resolution that criticizes Hizballah for kidnapping two Israeli soldiers, an act that is blamed for inciting the Israeli shelling of Hizballah positions in southern Lebanon.

"[T]he American Federation of Teachers condemn the bombings, killings and kidnappings by Hezbollah and Hamas that precipitated this current crisis," the resolution stated. It added that "the AFT recognize Israel's right and responsibility to defend its borders and citizens from terrorist attacks and other threats to its sovereignty."

The union also approved a resolution vowing to "monitor the condition of human and trade union rights in China" and "demand that the Chinese government extend to all Chinese citizens their basic human rights, including freedom of expression, freedom of association and freedom of religion."

Other resolutions encouraged members to boycott Wal-Mart because of the retail giant's alleged anti-union efforts and reiterated the AFT's longstanding support for abortion rights.

Jaime Zapata, a spokesman for the AFT, told Cybercast News Service that union members voted on these issues because "we believe that there is a direct connection between what happens here in the United States and what happens around the world."

He said union members voice their opinions on issues outside the realm of education because "so many of our members are involved in other areas of civic life."

Zapata said the issue of whether the AFT should address non-education related topics "didn't come up at all" during debate on the resolutions. He added that the union has members "who work not just as teachers or school staff but as other professionals, public employees, higher education workers, health care workers, so our work ... extends beyond the classroom in every sense."

But Sara Dogan, a spokeswoman for the conservative Students for Academic Freedom (SAF), said the AFT has its priorities "in the wrong place." She said instead of focusing on controversial issues like the Iraq war, the union should concentrate on "preserving the academic freedom for both teachers and students."

In another resolution passed during the conference, the AFT outlined its staunch opposition to the Academic Bill of Rights at the federal, state and university levels. The Academic Bill of Rights is a document created by SAF that Dogan said protects academic freedom for college and university students and their professors.

The AFT resolution warns that Academic Bill of Rights legislation, which has been introduced in at many as 20 state legislatures but has yet to be enacted on a statewide level, "would result in government intervention to ensure that more right-wing content is inserted into the college curriculum and classroom discussion."

In June, the National Education Association (NEA) enraged conservative family groups for proposing a resolution that would have voiced support for the legalization of same-sex marriages. The NEA eventually passed a watered down version of the resolution that voiced support for homosexual marriage and same-sex civil unions in the states where they already legally existed.

Israel Back On Track

Been reading Neal Boortz and cheering along lately. This is exactly what people I know are talking about. So much for that cease-fire nonsense. We're watching and praying for them along with the rest of the world. We're cheering the brave IDF as they do what has to be done. I cetainly hope we are helping, doing something covert to assist our friends, and that we're not letting them handle this branch of radical muslim terrorism alone.

ISRAEL GETS BACK ON TRACK

So much for that 48-hour cease-fire nonsense. Israel has gotten back down to business, swinging the bat against Hezbollah in Lebanon. After the IDF determined that they might not have been responsible for the deaths at Qana, the war was back on. In fact, they're stepping up their efforts...not only are the air strikes back on, but the ground war is being expanded. Good stuff.

The world would have been a much more dangerous place had Israel caved in to the demands of the appeasers and stopped pounding Hezbollah. Now Israel is back to doing just what they should be: destroying Hezbollah. The solution is not to force the surrender of Hezbollah, nor is it to make them stop firing rockets into Israel. The goal should be to eliminate the Islamic terrorist organization entirely. So why should you care?

I know, you're tired of hearing about it. Every time you turn on the news or look at the news sites on the Internet, it's Israel this and Hezbollah that. But this is now one of the most important fronts in the War On radical Islam, a world war if ever there was one. You will ultimately be affected by what is happening in Lebanon. Whether it is a positive or a negative effect is pretty much up to Israel right now.

The appeaser label can be applied to anyone, on the left or the right, in this country or elsewhere, who speaks of a cease fire. The cease fire and start negotiating route has been tried for decades, and it doesn't work. Islamists view any call for a cease fire from the infidels to be a sure signal of weakness. An Islamist views weakness as something to be exploited. A cease fire would do nothing more than give Hezbollah time to regroup, retrain, rearm and get ready to strike again.

Yesterday, during an interview in Miami with Fox News' Neil Cavuto, George W. Bush said it best. The world has excused tyranny for far too long and while it may have once looked like the world was a peaceful place in recent times, it was not. Israel's war against Hezbollah affects us just as much as our wars in Afghanistan and Iraq did.

After they're done cleaning house in Lebanon, Israel should do the world a favor an eliminate Hamas in the West Bank and Gaza.
