This Is Only A Test.

While I'm sure most of you are much more likely to be reading Debbie Schlussel's blog than mine, I do not want you to miss what I consider to be "must reading" in hers for everyone who has found themselves consumed by the illegal alien controversy lately and has inadvertently taken their eye off the proverbial terrorism ball. On thing for sure, we must never become "Johnny One Notes" when it comes to terrorism. Debbie tells the story of two Muslims, a father and son, who caused quite a commotion in the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport two nights ago.

A friend of mine witnessed a similar outburst on a hi-speed rail line from Philadelphia to New Jersey--while crossing the bridge over the Delaware River-- two years ago. No one took action that day--at least none that he knows about--but the event still plagues my friend's memory. We all need to keep alert. You should report any similar incident to the FBI. Amnesty

Here're my questions about what it appears President Bush will announce tonight in a press conference:

1. How is it going to the back of the line --if you are waiting--and working--in the USA illegally while you're applying for legal status, and the people "in front" of you are not?

This is a two-parter. And how is this protecting our country from an invasion of angry, foreign squatters?

Frankly, while it is sad that the Mexican economy cannot manage to pull itself together enough to support its citizens without resorting to selling drugs in the USA, our Job One is to never waver from protecting our country from those who will take from us what they want without any regard for our laws.

Mexico is rich in natural resources and corruption. We seem to be rich in corporate greed, gullibility, and inertia.

2. What part of offering a "guest worker" program to foreign citizens after they have sneaked into our country illegally, in direct violation of our laws, does not sound like the dictionary definition above of amnesty? What part? The President can re-define any word he wants, but I'm still speaking English and I'm still using a dictionary to define my terms.

3. If we are a "nation of laws" why do our leaders ignore enforcing them?

4. Why would any decent person, who happens to be an elected official, make any decision that favors interests of international business at the expense of our government and people's future? And what should be done about such an action?

This selling out of our country to corporations which have no national loyalty (and a strong disregard for our laws--civil and criminal) will certainly result in the demise of our democratic society. A country cannot succeed without laws, language, a flag, and borders.

Also, the selling out of our people by their own elected officials blatantly ignores the principles upon which we were founded--the very ones that have been the only set of principles anywhere in the world that have been as successful as ours have for the past 230 years. We are witnessing blatant disregard of the future of our people by many of our elected officials. So where ARE we headed? Where ARE these Democrats and Republicans taking us?

By Any Other Name, Amnesty is Still Not Sweet

Hello Bill Frist. I thought you were listening--but evidently I was wrong--again. The compromise bill you and Senator Reid are so excited about: border security with amnesty (by any name), is not acceptable.

I know. It's tempting to succumb to the temptation to go with The President on this one. All "the guys" seem to believe that they can send the National Guard to a few high profile spots along our southern border and call it a "job well done." They think, then, they can tell us they were listening. They were not and....

Well, they cannot. The American people, 80+ per cent strong, do not want any amnesty program!

This country's security cannot afford to be postponed until after the 2006 elections. If you insist pandering to the illegals or the Mexican government or by putting your careers ahead of our safety, we will be forced to vote accordingly. You WILL hear our message one way or another, sooner or later, and you'll hear us loud and clear.

We do want you to prosecute employers who hire illegal aliens. We do want you to send illegal aliens back home as they are discovered. We do not want you to issue drivers licenses to people with only a utility bill for proof of citizenship. We do not want you to allow illegal aliens to vote in our elections. We do not want you to allow them to cost us citizens a fortune so they can enjoy FREE services and then send us the bill. We do not want you to allow illegals to jump ahead of others who have followed the immigration rules. Baloney to all of that!

We are not buying this so-called compromise between the d's and the r's. We want absolutely no amnesty of any kind! We are watching you swaying, faltering, putting ANY bill ahead of just enforcing our current laws and passing a bill that will protect our borders and our infrastructure from illegal aliens, terrorists, and foreign governments.

The politicians just don't get it--the American people want those who live in our country to have a respect for our laws--we do not want to live in a land of chaos--which, by the way, is exactly what you get when you do not have order in your society. And you do not have order if your illegal aliens (read: criminals) or your business owners are bullying you into forgiving their illegal activities.

Do what you can to help Americans (including all legal citizens) keep charge of our country. Support enforcement of our current laws. And tell your legislators to fund that. Tell them to pack their bags if they aren't listening. Support Tom Tancredo for President in 2008. Support the Minutemen project to take American back on Memorial Day. Send them some money. Or send some to Tom Tancredo or Sheriff Arpaio. They are listening and they do get it.

Luckily, our forefathers were wise enough to drop some bread crumbs along the way to provide a course for us to follow.
