Shame On You, President Carter
Oh yeah! Jimmy Carter's at it again. Now he goes to Der Spiegel to bash our country. He's still one of our biggest embarrassments--anywhere he goes! And he goes abroad to do this often! More about Jimmah's faults HERE, and HERE, and HERE.
Here's a quote from the Der Spiegel interview linking Christian fundamentalism to US political policies. Outrageous! And he even has the nerve to tell the world that the news media was helping the President accuse citizens of being traitorous for any disagreement they might have with the administration's policies.
Now if there's ever been an anti-Christian force in this country (outside of the ACLU, and NOW) it's our mainstream media. They never would be caught dead giving President Bush so much as a break, much less becoming complicit with him in a devious plot accusing the US citizenry of anything. Much less a plot based on made-up, supposedly fundamentalist Christian beliefs--however THAT fits in to his convoluted thinking. (Is THAT what he thinks President Bush has ever done? Him, a self-confessed "born again" Christian.)

Let's see: "Dan Rather Spreading Fundamentalist Christian Beliefs in Hopes That Citizens Will Be Found Unpatriotic by Bush Administration"....hmmm... Yeah, that's rich, Jimmah! Like THAT happened. Read this and weep (lol).
SPIEGEL: So how does this proximity to Christian fundamentalism manifest itself politically?
Carter: Unfortunately, after Sept. 11, there was an outburst in America of intense suffering and patriotism, and the Bush administration was very shrewd and effective in painting anyone who disagreed with the policies as unpatriotic or even traitorous. For three years, I'd say, the major news media in our country were complicit in this subservience to the Bush administration out of fear that they would be accused of being disloyal. I think in the last six months or so some of the media have now begun to be critical. But it's a long time coming.
Mr. Past President, you're a bit of a fundamentalist schmuck! Have you no shame, no dignity, no loyalty to your fellow countrymen and women? Could you possibly be so dense--our "most intelligent" President-- to think you are not endangering those Americans in harm's way by your despicable mouth-flapping cavalier behavior around the globe?
I wish Roslyn would give you a "honey-do" list that would get you off the street asap. C'mon, Roslyn, for the good of America....

I completely agree with Mr. Carter's comments. I can remember presidents back to Kennedy and Bush is the worst one of all. He went into Iraq even though Iraq had nothing to do with the 9-11 attack, and in so doing, he lost the trail of Bin Laden who planned the attack. Bush was more interested in oil and revenge against Iraq than he was in bringing Bin Laden to justice.
Bush's tax breaks for the wealthy are a discrace. Say what you want about Clinton, but he left office with our country having a surplus budget for the first time in many decades. Bush pushed us back into red ink long before 9-11 happened. Bush caters to the wealthy and has nothing but distain for the middle class and the poor.
There is nothing about Bush that reminds me of true Christianity as our Lord practiced 2000 years ago. I have great respect for Mr. Carter and I agree with everything he said in the interview.
You can remember Presidents back to Kennedy and Bush is the worst one of all? Because you believe he went into Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia looking for Bin Laden? Because his tax breaks “for the weathy” are a disgrace? And--I believe your third point was that nothing about him reminds you of true Christianity as our Lord practiced it 2000 years ago? You believe these things because you have evidence, or because you heard it from another Democrat? I didn't see ANY back up for your statements. And, you gave no reason for your respect of President Carter. I guess it’s just an emotional “gut reaction.”
Did you read this article at all? It was more an indictment of the Ex President’s comment regarding an imagined collusion between the President (Bush), the mainstream news media and fundamentalist Christians against the public that disagrees with the administration’s policies.
That the MSM would ever join WITH the man they love to malign is what’s so absurd. That Jimmy Carter thinks they have done so, shows he has little grasp on reality. That the mainstream media or President Bush would be ABLE in this secular climate to invoke Christian values and get away with it is RICH! Jimmah could say he was “born again” but Bush cannot.
That Jimmy went to the German press--Der Spiegel--to make such claims is why he should be ashamed. Until Mr. Carter, no President in history maligned the sitting President the way he has. He was voted OUT! He should check with Roslyn for that “honey do” list.

I’m not going to tell you who to like better. I’m going to tell you Jimmy Carter has gone ‘round the bend and used stupid judgment (again--click those links in the first paragraph of the main article for his history--if the facts won't be too scary for you)--he’s the worst example of an ex-president we have. He should NOT meddle in international affairs without consulting first with the sitting President. He could screw up strategies that are sensitive and in place without even knowing what he's doing and without the right to do so.
