United We Stand, Divided We Fall

Pundits are claiming that we need to work through the UN in order to coerce Iran into scaling back its nuclear (weapons) plan.
They say that if the UN fails, we'll be going our isolationist ways of the past making military action upon Iran inevitable.
In the past, the USA did not support the League of Nations (Treaty of Versailles in 1919), instead entering into various other ineffective agreements (1921 Washington Disarmament Conference calling for naval arms reduction, the Kellogg-Briand Pact of '28 outlawing war) which, in the end, caused us to respond weakly to aggressive events (Japan overrunning China in Manchuria, Mussolini's rise to power in Italy in 1922, and Hitler's rise in 1933 Germany) which still led to war--WWII. Pundits draw this analogy for us, substituting the UN for the League of Nations and Iran's rise as a terrorist country in 2006 to that of Mussolini and Hitler. Well, no doubt, the danger exists for a larger more global terrorist annihilation plan.
But, it doesn't have to go this way. We do not have to allow ourselves to be provoked by "I'm a Dimwit Job," Iran's madman.
We do, however, have to stop the infighting. We do have to focus on our country's survival--wonder how many times I've used THAT cautionary phrase, "focus on survival" "get into survival mode" or something similar.
I am amazed that we are still blithely skipping into the future without the unity of purpose to survive.
Why we do not ask ourselves, "To what end?" before we engage in any international action is beyond me. I have a couple of hundred entries in this blog and I'm sure I've asked the question in more than half of them.
It's sickening that we undermine our own strength and power on the world stage. We have former Presidents, current legislators, public figures in the media and entertainment who act as though nothing would make them happier than to see us overrun with illegal aliens, unable to win against terrorists worldwide, lose our integrity in the world community, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose. Where did they get their "Death to America" wish?
Maybe no one's actually said it plainly. If we lose, they lose. They get to follow "I'm A Dim Wit Job's" (or whichever top radical terrorist has avoided throat slitting long enough to rise to power) rules of freedom.
Can our former Presidents and our media darlings imagine the world of Saddam's Iraq or today's Iran controlling the government on our soil? Do they think that only the "regular" Americans will have to live under a conqueror's rule? Surely they believe wealth alone can protect them from the mess left behind. They are mistaken and misguided and in major denial.
Do they want to see us bring our soldiers home to set up fighting on the war front here on the beaches of Mailbu, Miami, Chicago or Atlantic City? Or in the DC-Boston corridor? Do they want to live in the kind of fear for their lives and their families' lives like they do in Israel and Iraq, with bombs exploding in restaurants, malls, government offices, and hotels daily--anywhere a "mole" terrorist can go? You think you have lost your freedom of speech? You don't like the Patriot Act? Ha! You ain't seen nothin' yet.
The terrorists mean to pick a fight that would end with the demise of today's superpowers. They want us and our lifestyle displaced and they want theirs to fill that void. To what end would Americans aid their effort? Could they believe life in ANY other country is safer, healthier, freer? Well, I beg you, if you do, stop dragging down this proud country. If you can't find unity in your heart, just close the door on your way out. Please, just go to that other "better" country and set up housekeeping there.
We have wonderful patriots in America who should be honored here instead of spending time on these morally relative wackos-- the ones who are "offended" by truthful statements in any arena. But this sickness, this self-hatred, the denial that our enemies--the terrorists from Iran and other radical Islamic communities especially--mean business needs to be acknowledged by a unified America.
