Valerie Plame (I'm sure she's a lovely woman but I'm sick of her name),

Ok. I'm sick of the media again. I don't think Valerie Plame was EVER covert, and if she was 9 years ago or more, somebody prove it! I'd like to know when we started pronouncing Niger like neejair instead of like nijer. I don't believe there is any change in the President's poll numbers--I think the same people support him now as always did and the same ones do not as always didn't;

I believe people should THINK and not just passively allow tv rhetoric to pass by tele-osmosis into their heads...why does everyone NOT ask themselves about the source of each story they hear and the agenda of those reporting it. I'm at a loss as to why everyone thinks the government should interfere with the oil company's profiting from the selling of their products...Is this not a captialist free market system?... or as Mancow said today, "Yeah, that's right, what we need is more communism. That'll work better for us." It's ok when it works the way we want, but if a personal sacrifice is needed to affect supply and demand, no way. Well, we can control the supply and demand of oil and, therefore, its price. How about just not driving everywhere we go? How about not driving 2 or 3 days a week?

This, naturally, involves re-arranging some things in our lives. Drive less, work closer to home, stop the ridiculous gluttonous consumption to which we are addicted... Don't drive on weekends.,, Go to a church, temple, or other house of worship you can walk to... eat at or near home... shop close to home... take control of your life yourself. And, furthermore,

Harriet Miers' lack of constitutional experience wasn't her fault. It doesn't disqualify her from the Supreme Court, even though others would like another candidate to be nominated instead of her. She meets the legal qualifications and that is that... I do not think the President of the United States should have to cowtow to anyone when he makes his selection for candidate for the Supreme Court. He should make the selection and the hearings should be held and his choice, barring the uncovering of illegal activities on the candidate's part, the candidate should be accepted on the bench. No political party, radio personality, pundit, senator, congressman or woman, or anyone else has earned the right to this decision. This choice is the President's prerogative. So everybody else who wants somebody to do this or that or the other about Harriet Miers (may her life be peaceful now), shut up and sit down. We already have a President. And it's not you.

Now, I regress to the Scooter Libby indictment...Here's the point. We have got to stop fighting our political dirty tricks in the courts. There is no good future in this method of government PR problem solving, and we have just gotten too cute for our own britches.

The outing of Valerie Plame (I am SICK of hearing her name, by the way, are you?) by Scooter Libby didn't happen. Let's say that again: the outing of Valerie Plame by Scooter Libby didn't happen.

You can rest assured that if it had, there would be an indictment relative to the actual damn event! The Prosecutor had 2 years to find enough info to slap it on everyone involved if he could and he could not. So we are left with the political effect...a cloud hovering indefinitely...say, through as many elections as possible...to try to regain the power the left has lost.

It's the old party-to-party dirty tricks squad on steroids. The best they could do to slime this administration - unfoundedly yet again - is to indict a person CLOSE to the VP on a "state of mind" charge.... Now you tell me, what are the chances of finding a very smart attorney guilty on a state of mind charge about his discussions a very long time ago?! Keep in mind, Scooter Libby HAD clearance to know if Valerie Plame was an operative or not. If a good lawyer can beat this fabrication of a crime, Scooter Libby will cream the fools who went down this road. After all, his future is at stake here. My prediction: Scooter Libby will not be found guilty unless the grand jury is OJ's jury reincarnated for the event.

God help us! We are SO off-base to go down this desperate path. We hurt our Country at home and abroad with every senseless self-defeating public flagelation. We must stop focusing inward like naive first-year psych students applying pop psychology books to our behavior. We beat ourselves up publicly and non-stop for silly things. We pull out all the stops against each other and hold back when dealing with our enemies. (Mental head slap. What's wrong witchya! )

"Well, now the rest of the world knows we take our laws seriously?" Are you kidding me? The world thinks we are voting criminals into office, or they are laughing at us for the imbecilic way we conduct ourselves over minutiae.

We have to BE the UNITED States of America, not the conservatives vs the liberals. THINK! For crying out loud! This is war time! If this were a football game, would you play to win? Well, how about if it's our very lives at stake? Could we give a little thought to the ramifications of our self-defeating public behavior and how it plays with our competitors and our enemies?
